The Rhode Island Track and Field Coaches Hall of Fame will induct 10 new members next month, and a fixture on the Warwick sports scene will be one of them – longtime Toll Gate track and cross country coach Norm Bouthillier.

Bouthillier has coached numerous state champions in his tenure and has built the track and cross country programs into perennial contenders. He guides the boys’ cross country team, the girls’ indoor track team and the boys’ outdoor team annually, while helping out on both sides in each season.

Joining Bouthillier in the 2014 Hall of Fame class will be Dave Wright, La Salle girls’ track coach; John Marchand, Smithfield girls’ cross country and track coach; Sue Carlson, Lincoln girls’ cross country and track coach; Anne Sullivan Hird, All-State distance runner at Bay View in the 1970s; Joyce Bonner, Cumberland girls’ cross country and track coach; Ray Treacy, longtime Providence College men’s and women’s cross country and track coach; Bob Palazzo, Classical boys’ track coach and administrator; Charlie Breagy, North Kingstown track coach and road race organizer and Ann Marie Marion, Barrington girls’ cross country and track coach.

The class will be inducted on April 4 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.
