Restoration work at Warwick City Hall is nearing completion, with the spire and weather vane being the two major elements to finishing the project started early this summer. Trish Reynolds of the city Planning Department, who has been shepherding the project, said yesterday the crowning touches are expected to be completed and the scaffolding coming down a week from this Friday. The tower clock is working again and Joseph Blake, director of city buildings, is working on the mechanism to restore the bell. The bulk of the project has been funded with federal and state grants. Above, Carlos Perez puts the shine on the plaza’s new handrails and, at right, Michael St. Angelo and Matt Miller ensure the new city seal is the focal point of the new brick plaza. All three men work for E.F. O’Donnell and Sons, general contractor. (Warwick Beacon photos)
