Anita Lupoli, left, accepts her first place winnings from the Pilgrim High-Low Jack Card League’s season championships on July 16 during a league banquet at Governor Francis Inn. Last season’s winner Marie Feragne presented Lupoli with her $100 prize. Ray Walsh (not pictured), director of the Card League, explained that over 80 seniors participate in the 18-week seasons, paying $2 each week they attend. Collected funds are used to pay for the banquet, cash prizes for first through 14th place, and any remaining funds are split up among the other players. According to Walsh, the league is the largest High-Low Jack league in New England. The High-Low Jack Card League meets every Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. at the Pilgrim Senior Center.
