Tower ready to come down

A Warwick icon, the Apponaug Mill water tower, will come down to make way for the village circular, a new traffic system incorporating five roundabouts designed to alleviate congestion and make for a pedestrian-friendly village. Now that antennas have been removed, crews removed asbestos last week. According to Richard Crenca of the planning department, the tower will come down in sections beginning this week. The circulator project, costing more than $30 million, is to be completed in the fall of 2017. (Beacon photo)
