Track work to temporarily affect commuter rail

As part of an Amtrak project to replace railroad ties across its New England Division, there will be service interruptions every Friday between July 12 and Aug. 9 on the Providence, T.F. Green and Wickford Junction stations. The service interruptions will require temporary adjustments to the schedules of six trains that service Rhode Island’s commuter rail stops. Buses will be available to transport passengers when the rails are closed.

According to a schedule released by the Department of Transportation, the following commuter rail trains will be affected by the work:

• Train 8803 (5:45 a.m. train from Providence to Wickford Junction) will not stop at T.F. Green station.

• Train 813 (4 p.m. train from Boston to Wickford Junction) will end at T.F. Green and not continue to Wickford Junction. Buses will be available to transport passengers to Wickford.

• Train 817 (5 p.m. train from Boston to Wickford Junction) will end at T.F. Green and not continue to Wickford Junction. Buses will be available to transport passengers to Wickford.

• Train 819 (5:40 p.m. train from Boston to Wickford Junction) will end at T.F. Green and not continue to Wickford Junction. Buses will be available to transport passengers to Wickford.

• Train 8802 (6:55 p.m. train from Wickford Junction to Providence) will not operate. Buses will be available to transport passengers from Wickford Junction to T.F. Green and Providence.
