Warwick police released two Massachusetts men on Sept. 26 after the man they were said to have assaulted and robbed refused to make a criminal complaint against the suspects. According to Warwick Det. Capt. Robert Nelson, police received a call around 6:35 a.m. from a neighbor that a male at 40 Herbert St. had been assaulted and robbed inside his home. Police responded to the area, with a description of a black SUV and two males. Officer Javier Cabreja stopped a vehicle matching the description on Highland Avenue, less than a mile from the reported address. The two suspects were in possession of items belonging to the victim but the victim refused to press charges and the suspects, identified as Jeremiah Brown, 34, of Athol, Mass., and Eddie Smith, 24, of Boston, were released without charges.
