Submitted photo

The University of Rhode Island women's ice hockey team defeated Penn State 4-1 over the weekend in Kingston to win the Eastern Collegiate Women's League Championship. On the URI roster are three girls who attended Toll Gate and played for the Warwick co-op girls' hockey team - Sydney Collins, Brianna Accetturo and Danika Korpacz. All three girls were on the first girls' hockey team in Warwick history. Korpacz (front row, third from left), a senior, is an assistant captain, while Accetturo (second row, second from left) is a sophomore and Collins (second row, third from left) is also a sophomore. The Rams are currently ranked No. 3 in the nation, and they will compete in the ACHA National Tournament, which runs from March 8-12 in Wooster, Ohio. URI will take on the University of Michigan in its first game of the tournament, on March 8.
