URI women’s hockey bounced from nationals

The University of Rhode Island women’s hockey team went 0-3 at the ACHA nationals in Ashburn, Va., over the weekend. The team, which has several Warwick players, had a rough opening day on Thursday, losing its opener 4-0 to Minnesota and falling 6-0 to Liberty later on. On Friday, URI trailed Michigan 3-2 into the late going before an empty-net goal sealed a 4-2 win for the Wolverines. Minnesota went on to beat Liberty for the national championship.

Envious Swimming will hold information sessions and sign-ups for its summer swim program on March 30. Anyone interested can visit either of the swim club’s locations – McDermott Pool in Warwick or Bryant University – from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to find out more about the program and to sign up.

Envious offers a competitive USA Swimming club team, which trains and competes year-round. Its swim team caters to all ages and ability levels. Envious also offers a Learn-to-Swim Program and is a proud partner of the Make a Splash Foundation.

Its summer program is billed as the perfect opportunity to get exercise, make new friends and have some fun on summer vacation.
