Valmore C. Pelletier, 65, of Cranston, died August 6, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of Nancy (Pascoe) Pelletier for 37 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Vitale C. and Blanche (Sylvestre) Pelletier, he lived in Cranston for 35 years. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence and the College of Sante Fe in New Mexico. Val was employed by the State of Rhode Island for 33 years, retiring as a senior probation and parole counselor.
Val’s extensive community involvement included coaching Little League baseball, CYO girls basketball, being president of the RI Probation & Parole Association, Edgewood–South Elmwood Little League, St. Peter’s Church Parish Council and serving as a board member for many community organizations. He was a member of East Providence Council Knights of Columbus.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Amie Pelletier Cimino and her husband, Eric, of Coventry; a son, Vincent A. Pelletier and his wife, Mariam, of Gambrills, Md.; two brothers, Victor C. Pelletier of Ohio and Vincent C. Pelletier, FSC, of Santa Fe, N.M.; and a sister, Virginia C. McGivney of North Providence. He was the proud papa of his “three princesses,” Skylar and Camille Cimino and Minah Pelletier.
His funeral will be held Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. from Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair St., Warwick. Visiting hours are Aug. 9 from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
