Vaughn L. Clavin

Vaughn L. Clavin, 66, of Plant Street, Cranston, formerly of Grotto Avenue, Warwick, died January 20, 2012 at Kent Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Joanne R. (Day) Clavin.
Born in Providence, the son of the late Donald A. and Lillian (Griswold) Clavin, he lived in Warwick for 23 years before moving to Cranston a month ago. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Clavin was a self-employed truck driver and the owner of OTS Transportation for over 20 years.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Vaughn Clavin II of Warwick; five daughters, Victoria Rodrigues of Warwick, Patricia Terris of Spring Hill, Fla., Mary Jo Clavin of Cranston, Jewel Clavin of New London, Conn. and Sandra D. LaCasse of Hope Mills, N.C.; two sisters, Cheryl Brown and Dawn Beaudry, both of Coventry; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Joseph Rodrigues of Warwick. He was the father of the late Joseph Clavin and brother of the late Jewel Clavin.
His funeral service will be held Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. in Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
