Vets kicked around

To the Editor:

On the editorial page dated Oct. 2, the “My Take” author kicked around veterans of World War II in regard to trying to get the medals that they should have received when they were discharged but did not receive all at that time.

I know personally I did not get all the medals that I deserved (listed on discharge) and was told that if I would come back in a couple of weeks, they would have them for me.

All I wanted to do at that time was to return home and forget the Army and its regulations. When I got out, there were a number of men that got the same run-around as I got.

Now we have to go to some politician and beg for something that should have been given years ago without a bunch of bull from someone that does not know what he is talking about published in your paper.
