Video tour of Resource Recovery gets extended showing

Posted

Based on reviews, the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC) video tour of its facilities, including the Central Landfill and Materials Recycling Facility, is getting additional airtime in Rhode Island.

“It’s better than Titanic, Caddyshack and Spiderman combined!” gushed MaxMan, the recycling superhero known by Rhode Islanders for promoting good recycling habits. “No ‘spoiler’ alerts from me,” he chuckled.

Cable customers in Pawtucket and East Providence can watch the video from April 18 to May 14 on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. and on Fridays at 7 p.m.

Kent County residents can watch MaxMan’s favorite video until May 4 at 10 a.m. on Cox Channel 18 and Verizon Channel 31.

The 30-minute program gives viewers an up close look at RIRRC’s five distinct operations, where nearly all of Rhode Island’s trash and recycling is processed: the Central Landfill, Materials Recycling Facility, leaf and yard debris compost, Eco-Depot for household hazardous waste, and special recycling area. Rhode Island Resource Recovery produced the video, which blends video footage of its operations with animation.
