Virginia A. (Dailey) Cafferky, 81, passed away November 23, 2013 at home. She was the beloved wife of James P. Cafferky, Sr.

She was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Marion (O’Connell) Dailey. Mrs. Cafferky was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy, Class of 1950, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of RI in 1986 and was pursuing her Masters Degree in Library Science. She was a librarian at Bryant University, Johnson & Wales University and the State Law Library before retiring. Mrs. Cafferky was a member of Sts. Rose and Clement Parish and was active in the Pro-Life movement, and a member of the Legion of Mary. She was an accomplished artist.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, James P. Cafferky, Jr., Joseph S. Cafferky, Mary E. Tilton, Michael A. Cafferky and Bryan P. Cafferky; two sisters, Marion Miles and Claire Dailey; eight grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Peter D. Cafferky; and sister of the late Eugene Dailey and Jane Sullivan.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Clement Church, Long Street. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 p.m.
