Virginia M. Sweeney, passed away December 25, 2013.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Ethel M. (Wakefield) Sweeney. . Virginia was an assembler for the Monowatt Division of GE for 42 years and a member of the Pilgrim Senior Center, Gaspee Seniors, Friends of the Warwick Senior Centers, Inc. and the RSVP. Her last days were spent at the Sunnyview Nursing Home and the kindness and loving care she received was a great comfort.
She was the beloved sister of Mary E. Reynolds and the late Paul W., Francis G., William J., James V. and Elizabeth A. Sweeney; aunt of William C. Reynolds and Sandra J. Rice; great-aunt of Edward Rice III, Scott Rice, Jonathan Reynolds and Justin Reynolds.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Monday 8:30-9:30 a.m.
