Walter K. Jennings, age 88, of Dunedin, Florida, and formerly of Grassmere Street, Warwick, died on August 15, 2013 in Florida. He was the husband of the late Irene A. (Londergan) Jennings.

Born in Utica, New York, a son of the late Richard R. and Hazel (Hamel) Jennings, he lived in Warwick before moving to Florida 18 years ago. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Jennings was employed as a field engineer for IBM in Boston and Providence for 36 years, retiring in 1987. He was a former member of the RI Sports Fishermen’s Association. He was an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and Buccaneers.

He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen A. Jennings and her husband Alan J. Frio of West Warwick, a son, Christopher A. Jennings and his companion Jean M. Rossi of Narragansett; a sister, Eileen McAtamney of Lawrence, Massachusetts; a grandson, Andrew W. Jennings; two sisters-in-law, Helen Jennings of Wakefield, Mass. and Patricia Harvey of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard Jennings.

His funeral services will be private. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
