The Warwick North 11/12 All-Star softball team recently beat South Kingston twice to capture the R.I. District 3 championship. The win propelled Warwick North into the state tournament.
The pitching performance in both District games by Emily Carter was nothing but lights out. She pitched two shutout games, giving up only six hits combined and allowing no runs.
The Warwick North offense supported her by scoring a combined 32 runs in the two games played.
Warwick North’s play continued into the state tournament, as it has already punched its ticket to the state final on Thursday in Newport.
It’s awaiting the winner of Cranston and Cumberland.
