Warwick Police Department K9 Viking featured in calendar

Warwick Police Departments K9, Viking, will be featured on the cover of the Vested Interest in K9 2017 color calendar. The calendar showcases nationwide law enforcement dogs. Sales of the calendar support the purchase of bullet and stab protective vests for working K9s.

K9 Viking has been a member of the Warwick Rhode Island Police Department since April 2012. He is partnered with Officer Aaron Steere. The team is nationally certified in Narcotics and Patrol Work and are Deputized through the Drug Enforcement Agency (D.E.A) They have assisted Local, State, and Federal agencies in narcotic investigations resulting in numerous currency and narcotic seizures.

The 2017 calendars are available online for $15 plus shipping via the Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. website at www.vik9s.org.

Vested Interest in K9s is a non-profit organization based in East Taunton, Mass. Sandy Marcal, president, said, “Over the past seven and a half years, with generous donations from individuals, organizations and businesses and lots of volunteer hours, we've helped vest over 2,100 law enforcement dogs in all 50 states.”

Each donation of $1,050 allows for the provision of one state-of-the art ballistic vest, which comes with a five-year warranty. Generous sponsors, photographers and participating law enforcement agencies donated all goods and services for the calendar.
