Warwick Scout leads Pocasset Cemetery Eagle project

Posted

Adam Brice of Troop 4 Gaspee in Warwick led a unique project as part of his Eagle Scout project on Sept. 7. Approximately 20 volunteers, most of them fellow Scouts, worked to clean up brush and debris, trim trees and bushes, clear gravestones and pick up vandalized stones at Pocasset Cemetery on Dyer Avenue in Cranston. This past Labor Day weekend, the historic cemetery was the victim of vandals who knocked over multiple gravestones. The final phase of Brice’s Eagle project is to develop a “Who’s Who Historical Guiding Walking Tour” for the cemetery. (Text by Meri R. Kennedy/Photos by Steve Popiel)
