Warwick Symphony Orchestra winter concert is Thursday at Pilgrim Center

The Warwick Symphony Orchestra (WSO) continues its Winter Concert Series with a performance at the Pilgrim Senior Center, this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. This is the fourth of five concerts scheduled in the month of December.

The concert series is led by WSO’s new conductor and music director, Catherine Gagnon, and features winter holiday selections as well as Verdi’s “Overture” from “Nabucco,” Holesovsky’s “Prologue, Hymn, and Dance,” and Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze.” Concert venues are located all around Rhode Island and in Massachusetts, including schools, senior resource centers, community centers and churches. Donations of $8 will be accepted at the door.

Inquiries about the Warwick Symphony Orchestra and its upcoming concert programs can be directed to Gagnon at 401-263-9003 or by e-mail at catherinegagnon@verizon.net. The WSO accepts new members throughout its season based on instrumentation needs of the orchestra and welcomes all individuals interested in volunteer activities in support of the organization.

The Warwick Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization comprised of about 60 dedicated volunteer musicians who rehearse and perform as a result of their interest and love of music. The WSO provides a setting for musicians to continue their music education following formal years of schooling, and as a touring symphony brings live performances to communities who may not otherwise have access to such events.
