The Warwick Police responded to a single vehicle accident in the area of 100 Palmer Ave. on Friday at approximately around 9:30 p.m. The vehicle, a 1992 Toyota pickup, was reportedly operating north on Palmer Ave. when it left the roadway and struck rocks before rolling over three times and coming to rest.
The operator, Timothy Longworth, 27, of 30 Hackman Place in Warwick, had to be extricated from the vehicle by the Warwick Fire Department and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. It appears the operator was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was not wearing a seat belt.
The Warwick Police Department is continuing the investigation to determine whether speed or alcohol were factors in the collision. Anyone with information related to the accident is asked to contact the Warwick Police Department Traffic Division at 468-4293.
