To the Editor:

I really wish there was another solution to the Warwick School Department debt other than eliminating the transportation department. I have been employed by the Warwick School Department for going on 16 years, and for most of that time I have been driving the buses.
I love the job and all of the students love getting on my bus. I know that's not enough to save transportation, but the fact is that in the long run, First Student will end up costing more.
I am going to save this letter and I can bet you that five years from now, First Student will prove me right. Also, the staff that they employ doesn't receive the proper training that we get and their track record shows that. I could go on and on, but nothing is going to change. You’ve seen it on TV – all private company workers. Look at the out-of-district busing that's costing more. This is sad for not only me, but all the children who don't like change. Warwick will lose too, with middle class people being put out of work who can't keep their houses, much less pay taxes for school. First Student will make more money.
Looks like they win. Well, I guess that's all that can be done.
