William A. Brown, Jr., 90, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband for 67 years of Genevieve N. (Andren) Brown.

He was born in Cranston, a son of the late William A. Sr. and Astrid (Lawson) Brown. Mr. Brown had been a resident of Warwick for the past 63 years. He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, class of 1949 and had been a sales engineer for many years for Westinghouse Electric Company until his retirement. Bill was a very active member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Cranston, where he had been a Board member, choir member and had served as Superintendent of Bethany Lutheran Cemetery. He served in the Army-Air Force during World War II as a S/SGT with the 504th Bomb Group in the Pacific Theater. He was very interested in NASCAR racing and sailing, and his love of singing and of his country were of the utmost importance.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeffrey D. Michals-Brown and his wife Rev. Beatrice of Brockton, Massachusets, Gordon D. Brown of Warwick, and daughter Valerie E. Stevens and her husband, Craig of Warwick; and six grandsons: Matthew Supple, Aron, Treavor and Stephen Michals-Brown and Eric and Devin Stevens. He was the father of the late Marcia Supple and Stephen Brown; and brother of the late Gilbert Brown.

Funeral service was in the Bethany Lutheran Church, 116 Rolfe St., Cranston, Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Visitation was Tuesday, June 16 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Interment in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery.
