William Abbott Schwab, 62, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2015 at The Miriam Hospital, Providence, RI with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Jane Haslun Schwab to whom he’d been married for almost 37 years.

Born March 27, 1952 in Schenectady, New York, he was the son of the late William H. Schwab and Constance (Abbott) Schwab. Bill graduated from The Albany Academy, Albany, NY and Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He worked for the Lake George Steamboat Company prior to joining Amica Mutual Insurance Company in 1978, where he was the Relocation Coordinator in Human Resources until his passing. He was an educator, board member, and past president of Junior Achievement of RI. He was a coach for many years with Warwick West Side Little League.

Bill was happiest when he was cooking for family and friends or when he was on the water. He was a member of the Rhode Island Yacht Club. He will miss, and be missed, by his many friends and extended loving family.

He is survived by his daughters, Lindsay Haun and her husband, Paul, and Taylor Abbott Schwab; and a grandson, Harrison William Haun. He was the brother of George C. Schwab, Schenectady, NY, Marjorie Schwab (Wayne) of Niskayuna, NY, Susanne Shelby, Meridian, Mississippi and the late Thomas A. Schwab.

A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, March 13, 2015, from 2-5 p.m., at the Warwick Country Club, 394 Narragansett Bay Avenue, Warwick. Remembrances may be shared online at www.barrettandcotter.com
