William F. Cook, Sr., age 83, of Morning Glory Drive, Warwick, died unexpectedly at home on July 28, 2012. He was the husband of the late Josephine M. (Bernardi) Cook.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Herbert E. and Edna F. (O’Hara) Cook, he lived in Warwick for over 50 years. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and was a member of William Shields Post # 43 American Legion, and Memorial Post # 272 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Cook was employed at Bonanza Bus Lines in Providence for over 50 years. He was a long-time member of St. Kevin Parish in Warwick.
He is survived by a daughter, Noreene L. Cook of Warwick, two sons, William F. Cook, Jr. of Warwick and James E. Cook of Cranston; two sisters, Eileen C. Johnson of Warwick and Lynda M. Clarke of Coventry; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was the brother of the late Edna E. Wayss, Muriel D. Greene, Helen E. Opito, and Dorothy B. Pellerin.
His funeral was private. Burial with military honors was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Arrangements by Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, Warwick.
