William H. Gray died October 29, 2013, at the age of 92.
He was born and raised in Providence and had many friends. Along with his father, he owned and operated Gray’s Towing and continued the business after his father’s death. Upon retirement from the towing, he worked at Marine Machinery. He had a love of boats, sailing and dogs. He continued to live In Providence until his mother died. He then moved to a house in Warwick, owned by a friend. He and this friend owned a boat and dog, and together, they both enjoyed sailing on Narragansett Bay, accompanied by their little dog.
In recent years, Bill wasn’t able to get around as easily as he had. He had always been hampered by a hip injury suffered in his childhood; it grew worse with age. Now, he will be able to enjoy his freedom again. He will be missed by all.
