William J. Armstrong, age 95, of Beach Avenue, Warwick, died on June 12, 2013, at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rose Patricia (O’Neill) Armstrong.

Born in Providence, a son of the late James and Ellen M. (Ward) Armstrong, he lived in Warwick for 61 years. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Armstrong was a life insurance agent for Boston Mutual Insurance for 35 years, retiring in 1983. He was also a school bus driver for the Warwick School Department for 25 years. Mr. Armstrong was an active parishioner at St. Benedict Church, and a member of Warwick Council # 2295 Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by five children, Lynda Cavanagh and her husband, Bob of Wakefield, Kathleen Larson and her husband, Harry of Coventry, William J. Armstrong, Jr. of Warwick, Maureen Cobb of Warwick, and Paula Armstrong of Coventry; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was the brother of the late James J. Armstrong and Dorothea Dionne.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, June 15, at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial will be private.
