William L. Turbitt

William L. Turbitt, of Warwick passed away on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Fox) Turbitt.

William was born in Providence on August 27, 1937 to the late William and Claire (Harding) Turbitt. He was a bartender at The Penalty Box in Providence for over 31 years and the Sunnyside Recreation Club in North Providence for 8 years. He was a member of the RI Reds Heritage Society and the Pawtuxet Athletic Club in Cranston.

He was the loving father of William of Pawtucket, Meghan of Philadelphia and Matthew of Warwick. He is survived by his brother Robert (Mary) of Cranston, sister Mary (Jim) Hodge of Pawtucket as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. William was preceded in death by James (Frances), Walter, John (Catherine), Jeannie and Edward Turbitt.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lady's Chapel at Holy Name Church, 99 Camp Street, Providence, RI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Holy Name Church, 99 Camp Street or Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence.
