William R. Aucoin

William R. Aucoin, 75, Ironwood Drive, Coventry, RI passed away on February 25, 2013 at Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice Center, Providence, RI.

Born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Bernice E. (Little) Aucoin. William was a detective for the Warwick Police Department for twenty years before retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Russell and Judith Gates; a companion, Catherine Norma Ricci; three sisters, Annette Vesey, Sue Williams and Beverly Gilman; five grandchildren; and his former wife Joan (Scolavino) Aucoin. He was predeceased by two brothers, David Vegiard and Clifford Vegiard, six sisters, Shirley Pendergast, Bernice Sulyma, Beatrice White, Bertha Vegiard, Marge Vegiard and Agnes Dionne.

His memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Military Honors will be held after the service. Burial will be private.
