The Wind Symphony of Bethel University, St. Paul, Minn., will present a concert of instrumental music at the Cranston Christian Fellowship, Scituate Avenue, Cranston, at 7 p.m. on March 23.
The Bethel Wind Symphony, under the direction of Steven B. Thompson, is Bethel University’s premier instrumental music ensemble. Comprising 60 woodwind, brass and percussion musicians, the ensemble draws students from across a broad spectrum of academic disciplines throughout the university.
The Wind Symphony has been noted as one of the best private liberal arts college bands in the Upper Midwest and has been honored by selection to perform for the Minnesota Music Educators Association Conference.
The Wind Symphony’s tour programs are known for the uplifting musical experience they provide to audiences of all ages. The group’s skillful and energetic performances, as well as their crowd-pleasing repertoire, make each program an unforgettable event. The ensemble’s varied musical selections are chosen from the finest traditional and contemporary works for symphonic band.
