Wizards of Winter to perform at Park Theatre

Featuring original members of the world famous Trans-Siberian Orchestra, The Wizards of Winter are preparing for a tour this holiday season that will bring them to the historic Park Theatre in Cranston on Saturday, Nov. 22. Tickets are on sale now.

An eclectic group of musicians from the Metro New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania region with strong classical and progressive rock influences, The Wizards of Winter came together in 2010 to reproduce the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and present it in a more intimate setting. After achieving success during their inaugural season, The Wizards released their own Christmas Rock Opera album of entirely original material in 2011.

In 2013, The Wizards embarked on a special season in which they were joined by original Trans-Siberian Orchestra members Tommy Farese, Guy LeMonnier and Tony Gaynor. All three are back in 2014 and promise to deliver a powerful production that brings audiences to their feet at every performance.

Holiday music and progressive rock band fans won’t want to miss a new tour that includes a larger stage production and the debut of songs from The Wizard’s second album, due out later this year. For its new album, the group is working with legendary album cover artist Ioannis (Deep Purple, Styx, Dream Theater, Blue Oyster Cult, Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd) for the design of the album art as well as stage graphics and merchandise. In addition, the band has announced that several other former members of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra are scheduled to participate in the tour.

While similar to Trans-Siberian Orchestra in style, The Wizards’ original material is unique unto itself. During their shows, the group performs some of Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s greatest hits along with their own original songs.

The Wizards of Winter will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22. Tickets are $27 and $37, and are available by calling the Park Theatre Box Office at 467-7275 or online at www.ParkTheatreRI.com.

The Park Theatre is located at 848 Park Ave. in Cranston. Free parking is available for all shows.
