For their spring musical production, the theater program at Bishop Hendricken High School will present “Guys And Dolls” this upcoming weekend at the Dr. Daniel S. Harrop Theater at the school.

Performances are today through April 5 at 7 p.m., with a special Sunday show on April 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors; tickets can be purchased online at www.hendricken.com or by calling 739-3450 ext. 172. Any available tickets will be sold at the door one hour before each performance.

In addition, a preview performance was held yesterday to benefit Hendricken’s Arts Scholarships, and students from several local Catholic schools will be treated to a special performance tomorrow morning.

Described as an oddball romantic comedy, “Guys And Dolls” tells the story of gambler Nathan Detroit, who is attempting to organize the largest craps game in a fictionalized New York City while avoiding the authorities and trying to appease his fiancé of 14 years, Adelaide.

To find the funds for the game, he bets gambler Sky Masterson to take straight-laced missionary named Sarah Brown on a date to Havana. The show moves from Times Square to Havana, Cuba and even into the sewers of New York. But by the end, all the characters end up where they belong.

The cast, crew and orchestra for this performance involves over 80 high school students. All of the men come from Hendricken, but the female cast members come from schools in Rhode Island and Connecticut, including Warwick Veterans Memorial High School, Toll Gate High School, Pilgrim High School, The Prout School, Exeter-West Greenwich, Bay View Academy, Scituate High School, Killingly High School, La Salle Academy, South Kingstown High School and The Lincoln School.

The cast of “Guys And Dolls” includes Mike Villanueva (Nicely-Nicely Johnson), Peter Mancuso (Benny Southstreet), Zachary Silveira (Rusty Charlie), Michelle Houle (Sarah Brown), Stephen Lee (Arvide Abernathy), Dylan Silveira (Harry the Horse), Sam O’Neal (Lt. Brannigan), Kevin Madoian (Nathan Detroit), Matt Beaune (Angie the Ox), Kathryn Moore (Miss Adelaide), Dane Granja (Sky Masterson), Ryan Farrell (Joey Biltmore/Master of Ceremonies), Emily McCarthy (General Matilda B. Cartwright) and Luke Stirpe (Big Jule).

The Mission Band includes Rachael Amore, Meaghan Lawrence, Alex Corey, Giancarlo Gentili, Sarahanne Kent and Michaela Vieira. The Hot Box Dancers are Livi Yeaw, Kelly Robertson, Katie Hopkins, Molly Murphy, Shonna Carlson, Julianna Fielding, Alisha Ciunci and Nicole Jones.

Finally, rounding out the Cast Ensemble are Daphne Boudreau, Kaetlyn Collins, Ryan Eichenfeldt, Sarah Gelineau, Sophie Gregory, Matt Haronian, Joe Iannucelli, Ben Jackson, Gavin McHale, Miranda McLean, Matt Rowlands, Nicolette Theroux, Gillian Tiley and Samantha Troll.
