Wyman students kick off Gaspee Days with tour
TAKEN PRISONER: Three scallywags prepare to defend themselves in a trial during a Walking Tour stop at the Jail House. They are, from left, Chase Greenlaw and Andrew Cavanaugh of the St. Peter School and Michael Blanchette of Wyman.

It’s an annual tradition, and a sure sign that summer is fast approaching. It’s the Walking Tour of Historic Pawtuxet Village, hosted by the E.T. Wyman PTA and presented by the students of Wyman, Aldrich, Pilgrim and St. Peter School.
Students set up at various historic spots in the Village, reciting their well-rehearsed speeches based on historic events and people. All of the students wore period costumes – girls in bonnets and long skirts, boys in breeches and tri-corner hats.
As the sun shone down on them, the students continued a yearly tradition that keeps hundreds of years of history alive. (Warwick Beacon photos by Kim Kalunian)
