To the Editor:
In just a few short weeks, Rhode Islanders will have the opportunity to take a principled stand on ethics reform. I urge others to join me in voting to approve question 2, the ethics question. Question 2 will restore the Ethics Commission’s ability to investigate and punish Code of Ethics violations by General Assembly members. I was a co-sponsor of the bill that put this measure on the ballot, and I strongly believe that approving this question is critical as it sends a message that ethical government is a priority in Rhode Island.
Please join me and vote to approve question 2 on November 8.
Representative K. Joseph Shekarchi
