General Treasurer Gina M. Raimondo recently presented the Treasury Young Leader Award to 37 students, two of which were from Warwick. This award recognizes high school juniors who have demonstrated an interest in entrepreneurship and outstanding achievement in math, economics and business-related classes. Ximedica, a leading medical product development and health care company worldwide, was selected as the host site for this award ceremony due to the company’s commitment to innovation and support of youth. As part of the ceremony held in Providence, Chairman, Chief Venture Officer & Co-Founder of Ximedica Steve Lane spoke about the importance of innovation and advancing technology. Pictured here with Raimondo are Warwick winners Caleb Gouge, a junior at Warwick Area Career and Technical Center and a part of the Future Soldiers program who won the first place award in the Rhode Island State NetRiders competition, and Jennifer King, a junior at Pilgrim High School who is on the Executive Committee for Student Government and coaches the Team Works U8 Boys Soccer Team.
