The Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestras (RIPYO) will hold auditions by appointment on May 27 and 30 as well as June 2 and 4 for the Symphony Orchestra, Repertory Orchestra, String Orchestra, Intermediate String Ensemble and String Ensemble. For an audition application or more information, visit musicschool.riphil.org or contact Youth Ensembles Coordinator Chelsea Anderson at 401-248-7038 or canderson@ripihl.org.
RIPYO provides quality orchestral rehearsal and performance experience for talented young musicians from Rhode Island and nearby Connecticut and Massachusetts. The professional conducting staff, led by Music Director, Symphony Conductor and RI Philharmonic Orchestra Member Alexey Shabalin, is committed to providing the best educational experience for each student.
All RIPYO ensembles rehearse once weekly at the RI Philharmonic’s Carter Center for Music Education & Performance in East Providence from September through May and present three major performances. RIPYO Symphony members also perform side-by-side with RI Philharmonic musicians conducted by Music Director Larry Rachleff at a Friday night Amica Rush Hour concert once each year.
