A vote for a healthier city democracy

To the Editor:

I wish to encourage all voters in Ward 9 in Warwick to please consider voting for Armand Lusi for City Council. I’ve known Armand since we entered Bishop Hendricken together in 1975. For the past 45 years he’s been one of my closest, trusted friends.

Armand is smart, hard working, thoughtful, caring and honest. He’s built or renovated many of Rhode Island’s most recognizable landmarks including Meeting Street School, North Scituate State Police Barracks, URI Library, Scarborough Beach Pavillon and the Blackstone Valley Gateway Center. There is no candidate who knows more about labor/management issues and what attracts businesses to a city in this race. He will bring decades of big budget experience to the Warwick City Council.

Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican, it is not healthy for one party to control every seat in the legislative branch. That is what we currently have in Warwick. I promise you a vote for Armand Lusi will be a vote for a healthier municipal democracy, a strong minority leader who will bring balance to our city government, and a defender of the taxpayers.
