A wedding tradition
On Jan. 29, Eric Abbott’s 5th grade Religious School class at Temple Sinai participated in a Family Ketubah Workshop. In addition to learning about the significance of the “ketubah,” a document that is considered an integral part of a traditional Jewish marriage, the students and their families created a “family ketubah,” outlining what is most important to their individual family. Later this month, the students will participate a mock wedding as part of their year of learning about Jewish life cycle events.
