Anna L. (Mahoney) McDonald
Anna L. (Mahoney) McDonald, 93, died August 24, 2012. She was the wife of the late Donald J. McDonald.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Roderick J. and Annie L. (Kelley) Mahoney, she had been a resident of Warwick since 1956. Anna was employed with the city of Warwick for 28 years retiring in 1986. She had started in the Treasurer’s Office in Warwick City Hall later transferring to the Sewer Authority where she retired. She was the treasurer of the Warwick Municipal Employee’s Union, Local 1651, an executive board member of RI Council 94, AFSME and president of the Folcarelli Scholarship Fund. She was active at Insight for past several years, a long time member of the Providence Emblem Club, an affiliate of the Elks, and a member of the family team. She was a communicant of St. Rose & Clement Parish for 55 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, playing solitaire, an avid ice hockey fan, especially the Boston Bruins and the former RI Reds.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Anne L. McDonald and Maureen E. Parillo and her husband, John; grandson, Domenic Parillo. She was sister of the late Roderick, Raymond and John Mahoney.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Clement Church, Long Street. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours respectfully omitted.
