Scott School students have a new tree to celebrate thanks to the Warwick Wildlife and Conservation Commission, which holds an Arbor Day Tree Planting each year. On Friday, Commissioners Anne Holst and Henry Brown visited the school for the planting along with Superintendent Philip Thornton, Chief Academic Officer Sheryl Rabbitt, Director of Elementary Education Lynn Dambruch, Mayor Scott Avedisian, and Ward 8 Councilman Joseph Gallucci. After Principal Virginia Bolano gave welcoming remarks, each grade read a poem in celebration of the tree and helped shovel dirt over the new plant. The Scott School chorus also performed a song for the new tree to conclude the Arbor Day celebration. (Photos courtesy of Mary-Ann McCurry, PTA President)
