Stopyra earns honors
<$>Jonathan J. Stopyra of Warwick has been selected for inclusion on the dean’s list for academic achievement during the spring semester at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. Stopyra, Class of 2013, graduated from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School.
Area students earn
U of V honors
Nolan M. Langhammer, a sophomore majoring in Global Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences, and Brittany B. Rhodes, a senior majoring in Neuroscience in the College of Arts & Sciences, both of East Greenwich, have earned spring honors at the University of Vermont. Warwick students earning honors are: Camden M. DiMicco, a first-year student majoring in Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering & Mathematical Sciences and Ryan S. Orourke, a sophomore majoring in Animal Sciences in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
Warwick students earn JMU honors
The following James Madison University students from Warwick have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester: Michael McLaughlin, who is majoring in media arts and design, and Caitlin McLaughlin, who is majoring in studio art.
American International College awards degrees
Students from as far away as California and as old as 62 years of age were among those receiving degrees at the 2012 Commencement Ceremony of American International College in Springfield, Mass., on Sunday, May 20.
The following Warwick residents were awarded degrees: Dennis Duffy, a General Business (BSBA) major, was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree; Kelly Fogel, a Reading (MED) major, was awarded a Master of Education degree and Leonard Jusme, a Clinical Psychology (MA) major, was awarded a Master of Arts degree.
Laura K. Duff
earns Colby honors
Laura K. Duff, a member of the Class of 2013 at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, was named to the dean’s list for her outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2011-12 year. Duff is the daughter of Robert and Jill Duff of East Greenwich, and attended East Greenwich High School.
Malakorn earns honors
Julian Malakorn, a member of the class of 2013 at Skidmore College, earned term honors for the spring semester. He is the son of Javalit and Mary Malakorn of Warwick.
Franklin McCaffrey of East Greenwich received a degree in Interior Design during Mount Ida College’s 113th Commencement held on May 18. Mount Ida College conferred 223 bachelor’s degrees and 63 associate’s degrees to undergraduates at the spring commencement ceremony with special guest and commencement speaker U.S. Senator John Kerry.
Larcom to attend
William Larcom of East Greenwich, a graduate of Rocky Hill School, will attend Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., as a member of the Class of 2016. Larcom, who will be majoring in digital arts & science, will begin studying at Clarkson in the fall.
Area students earn
Lauren DeLisi and Matthew Wilson, both of East Greenwich, have earned honors for the spring semester at the University of Hartford. Warwick students earning honors are: Erin Adams, Lauren Fraser and Samuel Alexander.
Earn Fairfield degrees
Bianca De Angelo, of Warwick, has received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University’s College of Arts and Sciences. And Megan Solomon, of East Greenwich, received a Bachelor of Science degree from the university’s Charles F. Dolan School of Business.

Awarded Sacred Heart degrees
Three Warwick students were among the 1,600 graduates who received Sacred Heart University degrees at the annual Commencement held on May 12-13. Jennifer Allinson was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice,
Mark Conklin a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and
Vanessa Potts a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Daniel Tagliatela, a senior in Accounting from East Greenwich, was named to the spring semester Dean’s List at Bryant University.
