Area residents earn Stonehill honors

Five area residents were recently named to the dean’s list at Stonehill College for the fall 2012 semester.

East Greenwich residents earning honors are: Daniel J. Harnett, class of 2014; Elizabeth M. Perkins, class of 2013; and JoAnna C. Steere, class of 2013. Warwick residents earning honors are: Sara A. Morris, class of 2016; and Hannah E. Pearsall, class of 2013.

Earning Wake Forest honors

Melissa Legault and Megan Mancosh were among more than 1,900 students from Wake Forest University in North Carolina who made the fall 2012 dean's list.

Earning Salve Regina honors

The following hometown residents were named to the dean's list during the fall 2012 semester at Salve Regina University: Nicole Palumbo of East Greenwich, a sophomore majoring in early childhood education; and Warwick residents Mary Connelly, a senior majoring in special education; Ashley Jamieson, a senior majoring in special education; Jennifer Edine, a junior majoring in secondary education and history; Allyson Boucher, a sophomore majoring in history; Allison Marshall, majoring in global studies; Jenna Stanley, also majoring in global studies;   Julie Grant, majoring in marketing; and Kelly Corrigan, majoring in secondary education and English.

Barnes earns dean's award


Alexander Barnes was a recipient of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the 2012 fall term at Colgate University in New York, where Barnes is a member of the Class of 2015.

To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve higher than a 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.

Barnes lives in Warwick and is a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School.

Daniel Fried on dean's list

Daniel Fried, a sophomore interdisciplinary business major and a resident from East Greenwich, has earned the esteemed honor of placement on the dean's list at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) for the 2012 fall semester.

Nancy Vetters graduates from Clarion


Nancy Vetters of East Greenwich received a MSLS degree in library science MSL during commencement ceremonies Dec. 15 at Clarion University in Pennsylvania.

Carlsson earns honors

Catie Carlsson of Warwick, daughter of Jennifer Carlsson, has been named to the dean’s list at the College of the Holy Cross for the fall 2012 semester. She is a junior majoring in biology.

Armstrong earns URI honors

Zachary Armstrong, a student at the URI College of Pharmacy, has earned honors for the 2012 fall semester. Armstrong is a 2010 graduate of Hendricken High School.

Patefield on Muhlenberg deans list

Warwick resident James Patefield has been named to the Muhlenberg College Dean’s List for the fall 2012 semester. Patefield, a member of the class of 2013, is an English and Theatre major. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Patefield and a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School.

Students must earn a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average (4.0-scale) to attain Dean’s List status.

Muhlenberg College is a liberal arts college in Allentown, Pa. that is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
