Justice isn’t perfect. Hear four true crime tales where justice went wrong by Rhode Island author and journalist Kelly Sullivan Pezza at Warwick Public Library on Tuesdays, July 10, 17, 24 and 31 at 7 p.m. On July 10, Pezza will recount the story of the young nurse found dead in a Tiverton ditch in 1931 and the suave suitor who claimed she was kidnapped at gunpoint while they were on a date the previous evening.
On July 17, hear about the doctor's wife mourning her husband’s shooting death by roadside bandits in Providence in 1915. His passenger survived – their pretty housekeeper who had been warned to stay away from him.
On July 24, follow the story of the unidentified woman who was found butchered in the Scituate woods in 1894 and the police who had few clues until a famous psychic came to Rhode Island.
On July 31, find out about the Newport family in 1885 who were shocked to discover that their father committed suicide. Not until the neighbors began gossiping and the body was disinterred did police learn about a criminal kinship.
Kelly Sullivan Pezza has written for Southern Rhode Island Newspapers for more than 20 years and is the author of hundreds of articles and several books on true crime and unsolved mysteries in the Ocean State.
