Barry K. Albright, 55, of Sycamore Drive, Cranston, passed unexpectedly at home on Monday, June 4, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Judith M. (Messere) Albright, with whom he would have celebrated 18 years of marriage on October 8. Barry was the loving father of Michael J. Albright.

Born in Lowell, MA he was the son of the late Julie (Ventham) Albright. He was the grandson of the late John and Mae Ventham and the late Eleanor Ventham. He was the brother of Dorinne Albright of Coventry and uncle of Audrey Rossi.

Barry was a graduate of Hope High School, where he was a member of the wrestling team and active in theatrical productions. He owned and operated Albright Construction for several years and then returned to Rhode Island College where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theater, Communications and Technology Education. He then taught at Fairfield University where he was the Technical Director for the Department of Fine Arts and ran the PepsiCo Theater before returning to Rhode Island to care for his mother. At that time, he went on to work at Brown University as a Systems and Facilities manager and Client Technologies Engineer for twenty years. Most recently, he graduated from the Community Kitchen at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank culinary program and then became employed as a chef at Atria Senior Living in Lincoln.

Barry was actively involved with Boy Scout Troop 6 in Cranston and the Narragansett Council with his son, and also volunteered at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Barry was also everyone’s “go-to guy” when something needed repair and will be remembered for always doing whatever he could to help family and friends.

At the family’s request, services will be private and a memorial gathering will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers an education fund has been set up for his son Michael. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home, Coventry. iannottifh.com
