If you didn’t know any better, you might think you had stepped right into an illustration by the famous artist Norman Rockwell. Rockwell, an iconic New England illustrator, was best known for paintings which captured the day-to-day life of ordinary Americans. Today, it appears that the cozy neighborhood café, Beach Café & Pub, has provided the perfect backdrop for one of these much-loved pieces of art.
One only need to walk into the Beach Café to imagine this image of pure Americana. Neighbors and friends fill almost every table in the café and many have ponied up to the counter as they eat platters of delicious homestyle cooking, straight from the kitchen of owners Dick Moranto and Brenda Esposito. As each customer wanders in, Dick, Brenda and their friendly staff seem to know everyone by name. Some are such regular diners that they even know what they will order off the menu.
Patricia and George are two such diners. They both love the food and atmosphere here, raving about the fluffy omelets, the Fish & Chips (Patricia knows her Fish & Chips and she claims that these beat all their competitors!), the Prime Rib, the Potato Salad, the Tuna sandwich...their list of favorites goes on and on. There is nothing at Beach Café that they do not love.
Beach Café is not only one of Patricia and George’s favorite destinations in Warwick, it is also one of the city’s “best-kept-secrets.”. Diners at the café find traditional American food which is consistently delicious and always made-from-scratch. The menu at Beach Café is long and varied, beginning with such breakfast standards as omelets and breakfast sandwiches as well as those stacks of syrup-drenched pancakes, waffles and French toast. You can even enjoy a Mimosa from the café’s bar! Breakfast is served all day.
The lunch and early dinner offerings are equally as enticing. There is a wide variety of sandwiches, salads, burgers, chowders and chili options. Don’t forget their ever-popular Hot Weiners as well as such mouthwatering classics as Roasted Chicken, Pot Roast, Baked Scrod, Sirloin steak, Linguine with Red Clam sauce – the list goes on and on.
One of the things that the café & pub is most famous for is their monthly Steak Fry’s, held the last Sunday of every month! The next Steak Fry is scheduled for Sunday, January 26th, beginning at 2:00pm. For an unbelievable $15.00, diners can choose between a sizzling sirloin NY strip, a roasted half-chicken, Baked Scrod or Swordfish, plus oven-roasted potatoes, vegetables, bread/butter and anti-pasto .
