Beach Café & Pub The Evan Baker Beach Room Grand Opening, Sat. 8/17 at 2:00pm

The Beach Room is awash with dreamy colors of ocean-blue and aquamarine. Bright sunlight streams through the windows, shining on a boldly painted mural that transports diners to a sandy beach somewhere nearby. Tall barstools line the bar, each bearing a brass plate engraved with the name of a former customer of the Beach Café, while the rest of this airy space is filled with comfortable chairs and tables. It feels like summer year-round here at this cheerful café and pub on Oakland Beach Avenue.

The Beach Café is owned by longtime friends and business associates, Brenda Esposito and Dick Moranto. When they opened the café/pub in 2016, it started as just a vision and a dream. Now, the Beach Café & Pub is not only a popular local hangout, it is also home to the recently finished private function room known as the “Evan Baker Beach Room”.

This Saturday the 17th marks the Grand Opening of the Evan Baker Beach Room, dedicated to a young man who lost his life in a car accident when he was only 19 years old. Evan’s parents Jonathan and Lisa Baker have generously lived their lives and given back to their community in countless ways, including committing time and great effort to help Dick and Brenda complete their project. Dick and Brenda recall how the Bakers went to bat for them when they felt their Beach Room would never materialize. When they were at their wit’s end, the Bakers “came to their rescue” and helped carry them across the finish line.

To honor the legacy of Evan and to thank the Bakers, a great celebration is planned to officially “inaugurate” the room. Festivities, including live entertainment, raffles, games and lots of food, begin on the 17th at 2:00pm. Come enjoy something off the café’s large and varied menu while relaxing with friends and family. Check out the Beach Room while you are there and schedule your next private party.

While you are raising a glass for the dedication of the Evan Baker Beach Room, you might actually rub shoulders with some of your old buddies from the former Backstreet Bar & Grill, Dick’s business of over 25 years. That’s right, a REUNION of this once iconic bar & grill on West Shore Road is planned for the same time and day as the Beach Room Grand Opening! So much fun is to be had so mark your calendars for this unforgettable day and come grab a bite to eat, reunite with old friends and make some new ones. Come join the action!

Beach Café & Pub is located at 805 Oakland Beach Avenue. All major credit cards accepted. The café is open Mondays from 3:00pm – 9:00pm, Tuesday through Thursday from 7:00am – 8:00pm, with extended hours to 9:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Call 401-732-3213 for take-out or local delivery. The café/pub also has a full bar.
