'Canes hang tough early, but fall to Prout
The Warwick Vets boys' soccer team made things interesting in the first half of Thursday's showdown with Prout, but it couldn't get anything going in the second.
The 'Canes lost 4-1, as Prout got two goals from Doug Buonanno to seal the deal.
Vets' goal came off the foot of Justin Batista in the first, and the score was 1-1 at the half. But, in the second half, Prout scored three times. Besides the two goals from Buonnano, Jerry Krah and Sam Torrejon also tallied one apiece to put Prout out in front.
Mike Riccitelli made seven saves in net for Vets, which fell to 0-9-1 with the loss. It will be back in action today when it hosts Pilgrim at 7 p.m.
