On Monday, May 20, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Warwick Police Department responded to Seasons Corner Market, 2128 Elmwood Ave., for an auto theft in progress.

A 1997 Toyota Corolla had been stolen from the gas pump area while left unattended, with the keys in the vehicle, as the owner went inside to pay for gas.

While investigating the auto theft, additional officers were dispatched to Valero Gas, 885 Post Road for a robbery in progress. The suspect in the robbery, a white male, 5’7-5’8, average build, fled North on Post Road in a small black sedan after taking an undetermined amount of cash from the store clerk.

Officers investigating the auto theft located the stolen vehicle abandoned in the area of Heath Ave and Second Ave. Detectives determined that the stolen vehicle was the same vehicle used by the suspect in the robbery at Valero Gas.

While canvassing the area where the stolen vehicle was recovered, detectives located and arrested a suspect in the robbery. The suspect was identified as Nathan Fay (3/1/98). Fay was charged with second degree robbery and driving a motor vehicle without consent of the owner. Fay was previously arrested in January of 2018 for a previous incident involving demanding money from the Valero gas station at 1625 Post Road.
