Carl Frederick “Fred” Corbett, CLU CHFC CFP, 76, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Greenwich Farms. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Wilson) Corbett since 1959.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carl Frederick Corbett, Jr. and Helen (Johnston) Corbett. He was a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Charter Financial Consultant, (CHFC), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). As a financial service professional, he earned much acclaim and several awards. Mr. Corbett was past President of the RI Association of Life Underwriters, a Director of RI Chapter of Chartered Financial Professionals, past President and member of the RI Estate Planning Council. Fred was a lifetime member of the Travelers “Million Dollar Round Table” and was awarded “Agent of the Year” in 1979. In 2001 he received the Professional of the Year Award from the RI Society of Financial Professionals. Mr. Corbett was involved with the Jaycees, Boy Scouts of America, Spring Lake Campers Association, where he was past President, and the Warwick Rotary Club. He maintained a life long interest in field sports, (hunting, shooting, fishing, and conservation). He was a member of the Peacedale Shooting Preserve, Addieville East Farm, and the Mt. Tom Club, where he served as Treasurer. An avid golfer, he was a member of Quidnessett County Club, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Governors, and where he made many lifelong friends.

He was the father of Carl Frederick, “Rick” Corbett (Rebecca), Deborah Bryan (Martin), Christopher P. Corbett, and Kerrin E. Martini (Steven); brother of Dennis Corbett, Nancy Reggio, and the late P. Kirk Corbett. He is also survived by six grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 8:15 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, Fair St., at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park. Visiting hours, Friday 4-8 p.m.
