Carolyn M. Thatcher, 82, of Warwick, a homemaker, died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman R. Thatcher, Jr., Retired Warwick Police Department.

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Francis R. and Marguerite (Kelly) Mitchell. Carolyn was a kind, generous and a truly devoted mother.

She is survived by her beloved children: Cheryl C. Gamache (Andrew) of Warwick, David N. Thatcher (Roseann) of Coventry, Susan C. Meloccaro (John) of Cranston, William T. Thatcher (Jo Anne) of Warwick and Mark M. Thatcher of Warwick; a sister, Mary A. Murphy of Warwick; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Carolyn is also survived by her beloved St. Bernard: “Brandon.” Carolyn was the beloved grandmother of the late David N. Thatcher, Jr. and sister of the late Robert, William, Gene, George and Stephen Mitchell.

Her funeral service was private. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
