CCRI Players present ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ CCRI Players present ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’
The Community College Players will present “The Seven Deadly Sins,” a one-act play cycle by Thornton Wilder, from April 26 to 29 at the Liston Campus, 1 Hilton St., Providence.
Wilder, one of the most distinguished and versatile American writers of the 20th century, attempted in the late 1950s and early 1960s to write seven one-act plays depicting the seven deadly sins. During his lifetime, only four were completed to his initial satisfaction, and he withdrew two of these from circulation.
CCRI Theatre students Erin Archer and Kerry Schiff will direct the Players’ performance of “The Seven Deadly Sins” with shows at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, April 26 to 28, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29.
The CCRI Players have included a student-directed production on their main stage schedule each season since 2004-05. Mentored by Assistant Professor Theodore Clement, Archer, of Providence, and Shiff, of Barrington, previously worked on numerous productions at CCRI and elsewhere, both onstage and off.
Reserved-seat tickets cost $9 for the general public and $7 for students, senior citizens and children. Telephone reservations may be made by calling 401-825-2219 at any time.
